What do you think of the snowboard package offered on this site?

The price seems really good for everything it comes with and im a beginner snowboarder so I’m trying to buy my first board. Does it look good and what snowboards/boots/ and bindings look good?

That should be fine for your first set up. What board you get depends on if you’re planning on riding park or just downhill and what height you are.
You could print out a list of the products the website offers with the package, go into a local boardshop/any mountain/rei and try out the stuff in person. That way someone can work with you to help you pick out which ones you like best. Then do the package from the website.

my friend was talking about this website the other day b/c he was talking about getting new boots.
seems like you have to get the package or you cant get anything. plus doesnt have whole lot of selection

if i were you i would first rent out and see what kind of rider you are then buy.

i personally dont like this website. my opinion you can get better snowboard package if you go to other site such as: sierrasnowboard.com or thehouse.com

I would proceed with caution with that site and that package.

Those boards/boots/bindings aren’t very good. They are what is often termed “lower quality” (i.e. the kind found in sports authority etc). I know you said you are a beginner but I dont think that makes it okay to buy poor quality materials. Yes, the package price of $249 is hard to beat, but I would be afraid of only getting a winter out of the gear before you would want to actually get better quality stuff.

On average a good decent previous year snowboard would run around $300. Good decent boots around $80 , and good decent bindings around $100. So you can see a good setup will be minimal $500 but more like $600-$700. Of course, there are locations and ways to get cheaper stuff but on average $500-$600 is usual.

Also, I would be very hesitant buying this stuff online. When you come to online sites like yahoo answer..the people who recommend certain gear sites either have some sort of connection to the site or they been doing this for a while and so they know what to get. Since you are new, how would you be sure what size board to get, what size boots you need, if the bindings go with the board..etc…

the best solution is to rent a board for the first few times. beat that board up with falling etc..and then go to a ski shop and have a worker help you pick out everything you need. Prices aren’t actually that much worse than online sites…

    good luck
