To snowboard or not to snowboard?

Hey! I’m interested in buying a board for this season. I’m kind of new to snowboarding but not really. I’ve been a total of maybe 6 or 7 times in my life but i got pretty good at carving and such. So basically i don’t know what i need in a snowboard for someone my size. I know how every little detail matters…well here it goes.
- I’m 6 foot 1.4 inches tall
-I weigh 162-164
- my left foot is a size 11, and my right is a 10 1/2 strange eh? i know
-I ride regular, but i would like to get good at goofy and will be a switching a ton.
-I’d say i’m still a beginner I suppose because i haven’t gone for the last 2 years
-I am getting a pass to park city so the type of riding there is downhill mountain i suppose, i don’t plan on doing to many tricks, kuz i’m not that good yet so i think i need a longer board? and i was told shorter boards are for tricks basically i want a board for speed and carving i think. I like speed

so any tips or comments would be helpful

anywhere around a 159. more or less
a shorter board wont hurt, it will give you more control and response. anyways, it isn’t noticeably slower.

since you ride at park city, i definitely say start shredding. your lucky.

You need a twin tip board designed for someone with size 11 feet so…

    Santa Cruz Gian Simmen Pro

This board is geared a but more for park riding, but most twin tips are. It’s available as a 157 which should be ok for most riding. I’m about the same build as you and I ride a 156.

If you really want to hit the deep powder board, I’ve got the Santa Cruz Twinza Platinum (07-08 model) http://www.santacruzsnowboards.com/boards/board.php?sku=66161133&season=0809

To save aggravation you might want to rent the first few times you go. You can try the different widths and types of boards. Check with some of the local board ships to see if any company is having any demo days. You can try different models of snowboards from that particular company, usually for no or a very small fee.
