snowboardinnnnnnnng? goofy vs. reg; weight; advanced!?

i know im regular but i was thinking that the dominant foot should be the back foot? b/c whatever foot you put pressure on goes to the back and the not pressured foot swings foward, right? so shouldnt the dominant foot be on the back?

and personally, i know that w/e foot you put pressure on goes behind and w/e foot u put foward goes foward but is that right? i saw videos on youtube and they say to put pressure on ur front foot and you will go foward, but doesnt that make it stop?

when i snowboard, i ride both foot, regular and goofy. i can go straight down the hill regular and same goes for goofy. one is not more comfortable than the other. is that wrong? im only a beginner and apparently its “advanced” to master both ways????

last but not least, i cannot do a toeside edge! i know it is really bad to not know how to do one edge, so i want to learn. i can do it when my board is horizontal but not when i am actually going down the slope. i figured it is because i am so scared of the speed. im rarely going down the slope vertical(or parallel) to the slope bc i am scared of the speed.(also ppl tell me to never go straight down the hill) i cannot perform a TOESIDE if i am not parallel to the slope.

should i take lessons? i am thinking of taking lessons this sunday.. i am going to go into a beginner class, will that benefit me?

(ps- i already mastered the heelside and can do falling leaf heelside. i just need to learn toeside! :( )
if you do toeside/heelside meanwhile yu go parallel to the slope, then do you go slower or still go faster?

Once you learn how to use your edges and carve down the hill with some speed, you will find which way is more comfortable for you to ride. When you say you can go both ways, I assume your just crossing back and forth across the hill in a falling leaf pattern, and not turning onto your toe edge. You need to keep your knee bent, stand straight, and force that turn onto your toe edge. You gonna fall a lot, it’s part of the process. Lessons are alright if they’re small groups, so you can get some one on one attention. Stick with it, you be cruising in no time.

You lean forward so you go faster forward- so you got it mixed up. If you put weight back, you either spin around or fall.

Just do iny miny minny moe and figure out which should go first if there really is no difference. It’s not bad, but you’ve gotta pick one.

Bend your knees and lean forward, you’ll pick up speed if you just go straight down the hill, you will slow down and gain control if you do toeside adn heel side.

    TAke lessons!
